apositive provide both Counselling and Coaching services, from Poulton Le Fylde, alongside a number of added value complementary techniques, for example, Mindfulness, Creative Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

During the COVID 19 pandemic mental health across all age groups has been impacted, for example, due to lack of social interaction, loss of employment, relationship impacts. apositive are offering free counselling during the pandemic to key workers and the unemployed.

The founder, Alison Lord, MBA, Adv Dip Counselling, SNHS Dip Life & Mindfulness Coach, has both a vocational and professional business background, bringing both experience in a talking therapy setting and a global business setting.

apositive is located in Poulton Le Fylde, Lancashire and covers all areas of the Fylde Coast, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Thornton- Cleveleys, St Annes, Lytham St Annes and wider areas of Lancashire, for example Garstang, Lancaster, Preston.

During the Covid-19 pandemic counselling therapy or coaching is offered remotely via the internet (using online applications like Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams) or by telephone.

The pandemic has certainly impacted our lives in a number of ways and we all handle change, anxiety and stress or worry differently.

If life feels like it's getting on top of you, or you could benefit from a place to take some time-out where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment then speaking to a counsellor/therapist may be of great support for you to look at the impact of the past on your present. If you are suffering from stress, anxiety, low confidence or self esteem, depression, addiction, phobias, relationship issues etc counselling and creative therapy can help.

The counselling service offered is person-centred therapy and this therapy focusses very much on you, the person and how you may be able to cope with any current or future problems. Benefits of person-centred counselling can include a greater ability to trust yourself, a decrease in anxiety and feelings of panic and healthier relationships.

It is a technique that complements other talking therapies like counselling. It is particularly helpful when life is feeling too fast paced or overwhelming.
